Anita Montes, M.D.
Gynecology
Dr. Montes was born and raised in Oakland, California. One of 11 children, and the first to go to college, she obtained her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She then returned to California to attend medical school at the University of California at San Diego, and completed her residency at Kaiser San Francisco. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and speaks both English and Spanish.
After initially practicing in California and then in New York, Dr. Montes moved to the Hickory area in 1990 with her husband, Mark Sakatos, and their twins Matthew and Sarah. She began working at A Woman’s View in 2011. After 40 years of full time devotion to the practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she has now pulled back to part time work. She is currently practicing only gynecology and is also managing the “Why Weight” weight loss program here at A Woman’s View. She’s a perfect fit for this new role, having previously run a successful weight loss program of her own.
Now with more time on her hands and a good night’s sleep she will be able to fully engage with her many hobbies including sewing, jewelry making and her current passion, making soap. She will miss those wonderful and memorable births and wants to thank all of her patients for allowing her to have had a part in this very personal occasion in their life. Each and every delivery has had an impact on her as well and she thanks you for 4 decades of incredible memories.
