Elizabeth Van Buren, M.D.
Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Van Buren grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and attended Clemson University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. During her undergraduate years, she worked as an EMT, gaining valuable hands-on experience in patient care before pursuing medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at East Tennessee State University.
“I chose to become an OB/GYN because I wanted to build lasting relationships with my patients and support them through multiple phases of life. It is a privilege to be present for some of my patients’ happiest moments, but it is just as rewarding to help guide and support them through their most challenging times. When I see patients, I strive to provide the same quality of care I would want for my own mother, sisters, and daughter. I believe in open, honest discussions about treatment goals and empowering patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.”
Outside of work, Dr. Van Buren enjoys spending time with her husband, Sean, and their two young children, Liam and Scarlett. As a family, they love visiting farmers markets, exploring the local library, and cheering on their favorite baseball teams. She is also a proud member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina.
